It reads mainstream 1D and 2D barcodes from printed labels and digital screens, making it suitable for retail billing counters, supermarkets, pharmacies, and other checkout applications. Its presentation design allows users to bring items to the scanner for convenient barcode capture.

The RETSOL PD-4000i supports motion tolerance of up to 6 metres per second, allowing it to read barcodes as products move through the scanning area. Its high-resolution sensor supports a reading accuracy of 3 mil for Code 39 barcodes. For busy billing counters, this combination helps operators scan items in a continuous workflow with less need to pause each product in front of the scanner.
Hands-Free Operation with Automatic Object Sensing

The PD-4000i features self-sensing reading for hands-free operation and a wide field of view measuring 45° horizontally and 35° vertically. This scanning area gives operators flexibility when presenting products, while automatic sensing reduces the need to trigger each scan manually. The desktop design measures 152 × 149 × 80 mm and weighs 376 g, making it a practical option for countertop scanning.
